GÀBIA is about gender violence. The story shows some characters caught in a vicious circle of false needs and fear of change. They live in their particular world made up of cardboard, where everything is temporal, about to be wrapped and transported..
Each of them lives shut in their own "cage". The child, the weakest character, will try to find a way out of this world, either alone or with somebody’s help. He will have to be brave and, during the process, he will meet other characters, who will show him about immigration, abuse of authority and loneliness.
Making a mask is part of the script, since they show some of each character’s story..
TAs soon as the mask appears on stage we identify it, we understand its meaning and we know that we have seen it before.
But sometimes we do not remember where exactly…
Was it a neighbor, a friend, a coworker?
we see it clearly...
